The season of Mango has started. There was a time when starting of Mango season brought about festive atmosphere in villages. During those days, there were lots of Mango trees and variety of Mango fruits was available within one’s locality. But the onset of urbanization in rural areas destroyed most of the Mango trees there. Villagers started to buy mangoes at markets, a strange thing which they had never heard of before.
The sight of children climbing Mango trees or pelting stones at the fruits, on their way to school, was a common sight earlier. During those days, the Mango tree plantation owners made arrangements to guard their properties from these innocent thieves. But today, things have changed a lot. Leave alone the Mango plantations; the sight of even a single tree is rare nowadays. The modern generation knows Mango as a commodity bought at markets.

Recently I did an assignment on Mango season. I took it very interestingly and captured these photos. While riding my bike I saw three students trying to pluck off Mangoes from a tree beside the road. I stopped my bike and started to click photos. After few clicks, they came to know about it and ran away. That made me to remember my childhood days.
